    Fun learning tool

Great quality! The board is double sided, capital letters on one side and lowercase on the other. It is cardboard but it is thick and sturdy and folds up into a square. The colors are bright. The box is also sturdy cardboard and has a stiff felt covering the grab hole. The pieces are all good quality. There are 2 objects for each letter. Most of the objects are fairly common and easily recognizable. There are 2 objects that had me stumped at first. There is one that looks like a mountain that they used to represent an island for letter "i". There is also a puzzle piece that they used for letter "j" as in jigsaw. My 3 year old was confused by these because he also identified them as mountain and puzzle piece. It does comes with a paper that has a few suggested ways to play and also has a list of objects and what letter they go with, which is how I figured out the island and jigsaw thing. Overall, this is a great quality product and is a really fun way to teach the alphabet and letter sounds.

    Great Product!

I compared this product to ones that were similar, and I'm glad I got this one. I like how the board has two sides; one with upper case letters and one with lower case letters. I also like that the game comes with 52 pieces instead of only 26. The board is colorful and all of the contents are mostly well made. The alphabet pieces are made from a variety of materials: plastic, rubber, fabric with stuffing, etc; which is good for tactile sensory exploration. My son and daycare kids are just at the age where they are ready to connect letters to beginning sounds. They haven't gotten the hang of it yet, but they are having fun finding objects in the mystery box! They think it is so cool!

Such a good idea. My five-year-old loved it.

This is an amazing idea. The board is big and double sided with uppercase on one side and lowercase on the other signs. There are lots of pieces in the mystery box. Some letters have one match while others have 2 to 3 items that match that letter. As a bonus, you now have a mystery box that you can play "feel, and guess the object" with. This gets my five-year-old to practice his letter sounds, but he thinks he's just having a family game night. My 2.5 year old was interested in taking things from the box and took a couple of turns placing them on letters, but then walked away. My five-year-old finished the whole game and wants to play again when Daddy gets home. The included items were:apple, alligator, almond, bat, banana, carrot, camera, duck, dinosaur, egg, elephant, fish, fork, glasses, grapes, hat, hippo, ice cream, jam, key, kiwi, lettuce, lemon, milk, mushroom, necklace, orange, onion, peanut, puzzle piece, pizza, queen, question mark, rhino, rock, rabbit, strawberry, sandwich, telephone, tooth, umbrella, unicorn, violin, vase, watermelon, whistle, xylophone, x-ray, yo-yo, yogurt, zebra, zipper.

    Fun phonics practice

This is a fun activity for preschool and kindergarten age. I agree that 3+ is the appropriate age, since some of the objects could present a choking hazard. The box is sturdy with soft felt covering the hole, so kids can't try to see what they're grabbing. My kids love the mystery element and are excited to see what they'll grab next. The box is a nice, big size and easily holds all the included objects. A list of the objects and their letters that they go with is included, which was helpful in determining that the figurine was a queen for Q, and that rabbit goes with R, so it's not B for bunny. A couple of the objects were harder to grab from the bottom, such as the X-ray card and the key, because they're flat compared to the other objects. One thing that may cause confusion is the order of the alphabet letters. Instead of going left to right each row, they follow a path that zigzags side to side, so the letters go left to right, then right to left, etc. I do like that the board is double sided with uppercase letters on one side and lowercase on the other, so kids can practice uppercase and lowercase separately.Overall, it's a fun activity for kids to practice phonics and alphabet letters.
